This summer, Mont-roig del Camp presents a an exhibition celebrating the artistic collaboration between Joan Miró and Josep Royo through a collection of tapestries that blend graphic and textile art.
The exhibition showcases works by Royo based on Miró’s graphic designs, including pieces inspired by Le lézard aux plumes d’or (1971) and Miró à l’encre (1972), as well as a notable tapestry donated to Mont-roig by the Miró family in 1993.
Organized by the Mas Miró Foundation and the Mont-roig del Camp Town Council, with support from the Miró estate and the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation in Mallorca, the exhibition also features the documentary Miró Tapís (1973), directed by Pere Portabella, which documents the tapestry-making process.
